Privacy Policy

OptiMeasureLast Updated: August 2026

Introduction

OptiMeasure ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the OptiMeasure mobile application (the "App").

1. Face Data (Camera & TrueDepth)

The App uses your device's TrueDepth camera and Apple's ARKit and Vision frameworks to take optical measurements (such as Pupillary Distance, Vertex Distance, and Pantoscopic Tilt) of your face.

  • Facial tracking data is processed entirely on your device, in real time. Raw facial mesh geometry is never transmitted to our servers or any third party, and is not retained after your session ends.
  • Certain features — including Pupil Detection (shown on your results screen) and Check My Glasses — capture a still image from your camera in order to display the detected pupil or frame positions directly to you on your own device. This image exists only in memory for the duration of your session: it is never uploaded, saved to disk, sent to our servers, or shared with any third party. It is discarded automatically when you leave the screen or close the App.
  • Face data, including the images described above, is never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than showing you your own results.

2. Account Data

To use certain features (such as saving measurements or accessing Optician features), you may create an account by signing in with your Apple ID ("Sign in with Apple"). Depending on the permissions you grant, this provides us with your name and email address (or a private relay email address, at your choice) to identify your account. We do not have access to your Apple ID password or any other Apple account credentials.

If you choose to save a measurement, we store the final numerical optical metrics produced by your session (such as Pupillary Distance, Vertex Distance, Pantoscopic Tilt, and related derived values) linked to your account, so you can access your history across your devices.

3. Client Data (Optician / Professional Accounts)

If you use the App's professional Client Database (CRM) features, you may enter and store personal information about your own clients or patients, such as their name, phone number, email address, and optical measurements. This client data is stored securely under your account and is only accessible to you.

You, as the professional using these features, are responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable law before entering a client's personal or measurement data into the App. We act only as a data processor for this information on your behalf; we do not access, use, or share it for any purpose other than providing the App's storage and sync functionality to you.

4. Sharing Features

The App lets you voluntarily share your own results with others, in two ways:

  • Share Link / QR Code: creates a short link and QR code that lets anyone who has that link view the shared measurement results. Treat this link like any other shareable link — do not share it publicly if you do not want the results to be viewable by others who obtain it.
  • Export as PDF:lets you generate a PDF summary of a report and share it yourself (e.g. via Mail, Messages, AirDrop, or a file manager) using your device's standard share sheet. We do not see or store a copy of PDFs you export this way.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use the information described above only to: provide and operate the App's features, maintain your account and measurement history, provide customer support, and process subscription purchases through the App Store. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.

6. Third-Party Services

We use Supabase as our secure backend infrastructure to store account, client, and measurement data described above. Supabase does not have access to your Face Data (see Section 1) and processes other data solely to provide storage on our behalf. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple's App Store; Apple's own privacy policy governs the payment information you provide to Apple.

We do not share your personal data with any other third party, except where required by law.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Face data (as described in Section 1) is discarded immediately after each session and is never retained. Account, measurement, and client data persist until you delete them. You may delete your account, and all associated data, at any time from within the App's settings; you may also contact us at the address below to request deletion.

8. Security

We employ industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls on our backend infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
